Navigating the Skills Frontier

June 10, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET

In today's rapidly changing economy, DOL and ED are heavily focused on helping Americans navigate their careers and enhance their mobility, particularly through the use of better data and technology solutions. This effort requires more timely, local, and actionable data on skills that can keep up with shifting and emerging employer demands. It requires better interoperability, connectivity, and shared data infrastructure among workforce, education and training, and employment systems. And it requires establishing increasingly sophisticated talent marketplaces that give learners, earners, and employers a clearer way to validate skills, opening doors to stackable credentials and stronger recognition of prior learning and work experience.

This summit will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including public workforce development professionals, education and training providers, employers, cutting edge researchers, and foundations and other non-profits. We know that we will need all of you joining with us to make any real progress on the challenges we all face.
