About the Chief Financial Officer - David B. Castillo

David Castillo was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 7th, 2025 to serve as the Department of Labor’s Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Castillo served as a financial advisor and planner with Edward Jones Investments, where he worked for the last 18 years. Prior to joining the financial sector, he worked on several state and federal political campaigns, including former President Bush’s 2004 re-election campaign. He then held several prominent roles in the Bush Administration, including as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs and as a Director at the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Castillo is a veteran of the United States Navy.  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and holds a master’s degree from Gonzaga University.
