LM File Number 007-797
Case Number: -------------

Dear Mr. Smith:

This office has recently completed an audit of Transport Workers LU 525 under the Compliance Audit Program (CAP) to determine your organization's compliance with the provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA). As discussed during the exit interview with William Adams, and Jance Flinn on May 19, 2008, the following problems were disclosed during the CAP. The matters listed below are not an exhaustive list of all possible problem areas since the audit conducted was limited in scope. .

The CAP disclosed Local 525 failed to record in the union ledger a $5,000.00 fund transfer from the SunTrust Savings Account to the SunTrust Operating Account on September 26, 2006. The bank records show the exact date the money was transferred, but the union records failed to record the transfer. The CPA utilizes the union ledger as part of the quarterly financial report to the membership and for the Labor Organization Annual Report. The CPA was contacted, and the CPA advised that the transfer was accounted for in the Fiscal Year 2007 LM-2 report.
As agreed, provided that Local 525 maintains adequate documentation as discussed above in the future, no additional enforcement action will be taken regarding this violation. .
I want to extend my personal appreciation to Transport Workers LU 525 for the cooperation and courtesy extended during this compliance audit. I strongly recommend that you make sure this letter and the compliance assistance materials provided to you are passed on to future officers. If we can provide any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Investigator
