US Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division to hold outreach forum for Hispanic community Feb. 20, 2013, in Denver
Wages, workers’ rights and job safety among topics to be addressed
DENVER -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will offer an outreach forum for the Hispanic community Feb. 20, 2013, in Denver. The free event is part of the division’s “We Can Help” campaign, an effort to educate workers about their rights under the law.
Spanish-speaking investigators from the Wage and Hour Division and the department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration will provide compliance assistance materials, take complaints and gather information regarding cases in which workers feel they are being denied back wages, working below the federal minimum wage, have been hurt on the job or face retaliation for reporting on-the-job injuries or dangerous conditions.
