Deputy Director, Erica Clayton Wright

Erica Clayton Wright, Deputy Director of the Women's Bureau.Erica Clayton Wright of Pennsylvania joined the Women's Bureau in March 2019. Ms. Wright has more than 15 years of experience in federal, state and local government serving in various leadership positions. Ms. Wright served as the Communications Director for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, as well as Deputy Director for the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development under Governor Tom Ridge. As part of her duties, she led efforts to identify opportunities and advance programs encouraging the upward mobility of women.

In addition to her public sector experience, Ms. Wright has extensive experience in the private sector including more than 10 years in the manufacturing and energy industries. Ms. Wright served as the Public Affairs Manager for Kennametal Inc. leading its global government affairs and community initiatives which included establishing a technical curriculum for high school students interested in pursuing advanced degrees in engineering, machining, 3D printing and manufacturing.

She served as Vice President of Communications and Membership at the Marcellus Shale Coalition working closely with upstream, midstream and downstream companies within the natural gas portfolio, including trade unions.

Ms. Wright was a former appointee to the Pennsylvania Commission for Women under Governor Tom Corbett and former Board Member of the Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Ms. Wright serves as Board Member with the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy. She received her Bachelors of Arts from Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
