The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through November 16, 2018. New information is now available for 38 DOE sites including initial SEM profiles for the following five sites: Adrian-General Motors, Associated Aircraft Tool & Manufacturing, Baker Brothers, Herring-Hall Safe Company, and Kellex/Pierpont. Significant additions were also made to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Savannah River Site, and Y-12 Plant profiles.
DOL received 38 public submittals related to toxic substances and disease inputs since the last update on May 22, 2018. Four of those submittals resulted in revisions of the SEM profiles for the following sites: Y-12, Dayton Project, Mound Plant, and Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Lab (ETEC). DOL reviews of the labor categories in the Department of Energy’s Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR) are continuing. Since May 22, 2018, reviews of CEDR information have been completed for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Information provided by the DOL District Offices is also being used to update SEM. Nine (9) changes were made to the SEM profiles of the following five (5) DOE sites: Hanford/PNNL, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Nevada Test Site, Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, and Savannah River Site.
Since the SEM first became available to the public in March 2010, there have been 16 revisions of the SEM website. Prior to the release of each new version, the US Department of Energy (DOE) reviews the new and revised information to ensure that no classification issues exist. If necessary, changes are made. For this most recent version, no changes were required.
