Assistance available for nuclear weapons, uranium workers in Grand Junction
US Labor Department will provide information, claims assistance

Event: The U.S. Department of Labor will host an outreach event for current and former nuclear weapons workers and uranium workers in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. At the meeting, federal representatives will provide information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act and the program’s available medical benefits.

The EEOICPA provides compensation and medical benefits to employees whose work in the nuclear weapons industry made them ill. The EEOICPA also delivers benefits to certain Section 5 uranium workers covered under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, administered by the U.S. Department of Justice. Survivors of qualified workers may also be entitled to benefits.

After the presentations, Denver District Office and Resource Center staff will be on hand to help individuals file new claims and provide claimants with status updates on their existing claims.
