Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)

The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through November 15, 2016. New information is now available for 15 DOE sites including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Idaho National Laboratory, and the Savannah River Site.

DOL received 29 public submittals since the last update on May 16, 2016. Twenty-one (21) inputs were for toxic substances and 8 were for disease associations. Each of the 29 submittals has been answered. DOL used input in these submittals to make changes and improvements in the SEM data of three DOE sites. Information provided by the DOL District Offices was also used to update SEM data for four DOE sites. Noteworthy during this period, the Idaho National Laboratory information in SEM was updated with the addition of more than 150 labor categories and labor category aliases and the Savannah River Site and the Savannah River Site profile was improved with updated information on many maintenance and operations positions. Additional labor categories were also input to the Hanford, Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL), Construction (all sites), and Pinellas Plant profiles.

Since the SEM first became available to the public on March 2010, there have been twelve revisions of the SEM website. Prior to the release of a new version, the US Department of Energy (DOE) reviews the new and revised information to ensure that no classification issues exist. If necessary, changes are made. For this most recent version, no changes were required.
