Two-Day Basic Training for Injury Compensation Specialists – May 9 – 10, 2018

This training will provide participants with knowledge intended to significantly reduce the time it takes to process an injury compensation claim. The training will cover basic principles under the FECA, program regulations, and specific procedures necessary to carry out program requirements in an effective and efficient manner. Course topics will include: Program Overview - Basic Workers' Compensation Information, Forms Review (CA-1, 2, 2a, 7, 7a, 7b, 17, 20, OWCP-5), Traumatic Injuries and Occupational Disease Claims, Continuation of Pay (COP), Medical and Disability Benefits, Job Offers and Suitability Determinations, Recurrences, and Leave Buyback.
There is no cost for attending the training and all training material will be provided; however, agencies and facilities must cover any travel expenses and per diem for their participants. Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements including finding a hotel. Please contact Shirley Richardson at firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the training. The deadline for registering is April 30, 2018. The training is limited to the first 45 registrants and subject to cancellation if there is insufficient enrollment.
