About the Office of Public Engagement
The Office of Public Engagement (OPE) serves to advance the secretary's mission of Good Jobs for Everyone by making the Department of Labor inclusive, transparent, accountable and responsible.
We serve as trusted messengers to complement the outreach efforts of individual agencies within the Department to ensure a broad cross section of stakeholder participation in all facets of the Department's efforts. We facilitate and coordinate external meeting requests, ensure that obstacles to participation are mitigated and provide recommendations to inform and influence Departmental resources, programs and policies.
This is achieved through working in close coordination with the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships to form the Secretary's Outreach Team.
