WASHINGTON Acting Secretary of Labor Seth D. Harris on May 14 will hold a round-table discussion with low-wage workers and advocates on President Barack Obama's proposal to raise the minimum wage and ensure that hard work leads to a decent living.
Since the president's State of the Union address in February, the acting secretary and other U.S. Department of Labor officials have held more than 20 round-table discussions with workers around the country.
Local workers will share their thoughts about how a minimum wage increase would benefit them and their families. There will be a brief media availability following the discussion.
