OLMS News 05-11: Employer-Consultant Reporting: Notice of Proposed Rulemaking: Deadline for Comments Extended

The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) published on June 21, 2011 a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to revise the interpretation of “advice” as it pertains to the employer and labor relations consultant “persuader” reporting requirements of Section 203 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA).  (See: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-06-21/pdf/2011-14357.pdf.)  The comment period was to end on August 22, 2011. 
 
In response to comments received, the Department will publish a notice in the Federal Register on July 29, 2011 extending the comment period an additional 30 days, to September 21, 2011.  (See: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-07-29/pdf/2011-19278.pdf.)
