July 8, 2010 Department of Labor Announcment: H-2A Job Registry
Dear Congressional Staff:
Today, the Department of Labor as part of its commitment to open government made public the H-2A Job Registry. This is an online job registry which will allow the public to search and retrieve temporary agricultural jobs.
It can be accessed at: http://icert.doleta.gov/, where you can pick a state to see what jobs are available.
The new H-2A regulations which were implemented on March 15, 2010, required the creation and use of a job registry which will allow the public to search and retrieve temporary agricultural jobs.
For the first time, U.S. workers and organizations representing farmworkers will have convenient access to learn about temporary agricultural jobs accepted by DOL ETA's Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) through a single public location and searchable along a series of common data points – making it easier for US workers to learn about agricultural jobs. Users will be able to customize their search and print or download job information from the site.
For more information please see the attached fact sheet or contact DOL's Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at (202) 693-4600.
