Emergency Response

The Security Center (SC) is responsible for life safety and emergency response in the Frances Perkins Building and for Occupant Emergency Planning in all DOL facilities. Occupant Emergency Plans (OEPs) are required for all government facilities and include evacuation and Shelter-In-Place (SIP) protocols and procedures and encompass all hazards that may be encountered in the workplace (e.g., fire, severe weather, bomb threats, terrorism, and earthquakes). The Emergency Response Coordinator oversees the Frances Perkins Building emergency response team, including emergency medical response, and manages the DOL Floor Warden and Zone Monitor program for the National Office.
