Employee Benefits Security Administration to host webcast on participant fee disclosure rule
Washington – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration will host a webcast on Tuesday, September 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. EDT to provide information to plan fiduciaries and service providers on a final rule that improves the transparency of fees and expenses for workers in 401(k)-type retirement plans.
The webcast will discuss the scope of the participant fee disclosure regulation under ERISA section 404(a), its requirements and recently extended compliance dates. The webcast will also cover steps that plan fiduciaries will need to take to ensure that participants and beneficiaries are given, or have access to, information needed to make informed decisions and meaningfully compare the investment options under their plan.
