WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration will sponsor “Getting It Right – Know Your Fiduciary Responsibilities” webcasts on Wednesday, March 23, and Thursday, March 24. The webcasts are part of the agency’s national fiduciary education campaign to increase awareness and understanding of basic responsibilities associated with operating private sector retirement plans.
The webcasts will feature speakers from the Labor Department. The March 23 webcast will focus on basic fiduciary responsibilities as well as prohibited transactions and exemptions under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. The March 24 webcast will include information on the reporting and disclosure provisions of the law, and the department’s voluntary correction programs.
