We are hiring 5 college interns for the summer.

Gain firsthand knowledge of the IT sales industry through an internship at MicroAge! MicroAge has been a leader in the technology industry since 1976. We help organizations solve business challenges by providing creative IT solutions. We design, deliver and implement data center solutions including networking, security, servers, storage and virtualization. Because of the knowledge, responsiveness and the "if-you-need-it-we'll-get-it" attitude of our sales associates, many clients think of us as an extension of their own staff.

Interns will be able to excel in a collaborative entrepreneurial environment in a position that is focused on business development. This position will generate new business through calling prospective and former customers. MicroAge will provide sales and systems training and a coach so interns can learn more about a career as a professional sales person. The compensation for this position is hourly and a minimum of 12 hours a week is required. Internships are based on semesters and include a summer session. UPS anticipates to hire 1,500 people at 71 locations in 35 states. Most are entry-level part-time, although full-time will also be available if people are interested in permanent employment.Individuals must be at least 18 (17 in a few locations).P/T package handlers earn $8.50 to $9.50 an hour, and qualify for regular benefits. While the federal and state funds for this program have been reduced, the City of Buffalo will increase its commitment with $1 million in funding in order to assure 900 summer youth jobs in 2011. Preliminary figures indicate federal and state funding sources will support an additional 700 jobs with a combined total of 1,600 summer youth jobs in 2011.
