Women's Bureau Strategic Community Outreach Study
- The purpose of this study is to document current promising community engagement practices for the Department of Labor's Women's Bureau, to conceptualize a strategic community engagement model, and to develop a framework for assessing progress and effectiveness.
The Women's Bureau engages communities using a range of methods and tactics that vary depending on the subject matter at hand, characteristics of the target audience and geographical area, historical context, and available resources, among other factors. This study aims to understand and describe the range of engagement approaches and activities currently being undertaken and the extent to which they vary by the factors outlined above, and to develop a framework for incorporating variation as needed and assessing the progress and effectiveness of the Women’s Bureau community engagement model.
- Conduct a cross-office analysis to gain an understanding of current community engagement approaches and identify promising practices.
- Develop a logic model and theory of change for community engagement activities, including measurable indicators to assess outcomes of the activities.
