The U.S. Department of Labor's Women's Bureau is continuously evaluating ways to help American women enter and grow within the workforce. Women’s labor force participation increased substantially in the U.S. over the second half of the 20th century, then leveled off. Promoting access to affordable, quality child care is essential for many parents to obtain and retain jobs and for employers to hire and maintain a skilled and productive workforce, creating opportunities for both career advancement and talent recruitment. The Women’s Bureau is researching best practices, innovative ideas, and impactful policies to ensure access to affordable, quality child care for all Americans.

The Meeting in a Box concept is a communication resource for our stakeholders. It is a way for the Women's Bureau to share important information about what we are doing, while also providing messaging tools for your use. The Meeting in a Box includes a presentation slide deck with notes, a fact sheet, and talking points. It is a resource for you that provides the necessary tools to conduct a meeting, include valuable information in speeches, or incorporate important messages as part of a meeting presentation. These tools can be used as stand-alone pieces, or in combination, depending on the audience and setting.
