President Trump appointed Jeffrey Y. Grappone to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Public Affairs. Mr. Grappone has deep experience in strategic communications, having worked extensively with U.S. Senators, political candidates, and corporate executives. He previously served as a senior communicator at Siemens USA’s corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he advised the CEO on communications strategy related to the company’s workforce development and apprenticeship programs. Mr. Grappone also led communications and media relations initiatives for Siemens’ U.S.-based energy businesses. On Capitol Hill, Mr. Grappone was the communications director and chief spokesman for U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte and served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator John E. Sununu. Mr. Grappone is a native of Concord, New Hampshire, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
