Karen Torre

Karen Torre began serving as the Chief of the Division of Interpretations and Regulations (DIR) in August 2021. The DIR chief is responsible for developing and formulating policy and administering regulatory activity, as well as developing and administering a comprehensive national public information program designed to increase compliance with the LMRDA and related laws. Ms. Torre has served as Special Assistant in the Office of the OLMS Deputy Director. Prior to that she was the Chief of the OLMS Division of Statutory Program and she was, before that, an investigator in the OLMS Division of Enforcement. Ms. Torre joined the Office of the Solicitor of Labor in 2007, working for the Arlington Regional Office and, later, the Civil Rights and Labor-Management Division. Prior to her federal service, Ms. Torre practiced labor and employment law in North Carolina and Louisiana. Ms. Torre graduated from San Francisco State University and Georgetown University Law Center.
