Office of the Governor
Salt Lake City, Utah
March 4, 2013

Dear Friends of the United States Department of Labor,

As Governor of the great State of Utah, it is my pleasure to recognize the 100th Anniversary of the United States Department of Labor (DOL). This incredible accomplishment commemorates the efforts of DOL to ensure the well-being of laborers in the American workplace.

I applaud the mission of DOL to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.

As the DOL continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of a diversified workforce, I commend its efforts to partner with employers, communities, organizations, and institutions of higher learning to improve job training, provide lifelong learning opportunities, and advance efforts for profitable employment.

I express my appreciation to the 17,000 DOL employees for their contributions as public servants. Their efforts have helped make Utah a better place to live and work.

Best wishes for your continued success.
