US Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division opens field office in College Station, Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has opened a field office in College Station to connect employees, employers, community organizations and other stakeholders with resources and assistance to ensure compliance with federal wage and hour laws. The field office address is 547 William D. Fitch Parkway, Room 112, ZIP code 77845.

“I am very pleased about the opening of another Wage and Hour Division office to serve the people of Texas,” said Cynthia Watson, regional administrator for the Wage and Hour Division in the Southwest. “This new office will be a great one-stop resource for compliance assistance and information concerning the federal labor laws that we enforce.”

The Wage and Hour Division’s College Station Field Office has oversight for agency enforcement throughout the greater College Station/Bryan area, including enforcement of labor standards on federal construction and service contracts. It is an extension of the division’s Houston District Office, located at 8701 S. Gessner, Suite 1164, ZIP code 77074. The public can visit either office in person or call the Houston District Office at 713-339-5500 for assistance in English or Spanish.

The Wage and Hour Division also services central and southeast Texas through a field office in Beaumont and an extension office in Clear Lake.

To receive wage and hour-related information, file a complaint or ask questions about federal wage laws, individuals should contact the Wage and Hour Division, which administers the Fair Labor Standards Act, including child labor regulations, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Service Contract Act and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act.

For more information about the division, call its toll-free helpline at 866-4US-WAGE (487-9243) or visit its Web site at http://www.dol.gov/whd.
