US Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division opens field office in San Angelo, Texas

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has opened a field office in the O.C. Fisher Federal Building and Courthouse located at 33 East Twohig Ave., Suite 104-B, in San Angelo.

“We are extremely pleased to announce the opening of another Wage and Hour Division office in the state of Texas,” said Cynthia Watson, regional administrator for the division in the Southwest. “This new office will be a great one-stop resource for the people of central Texas on compliance assistance and information concerning the federal labor laws we enforce.”

The Wage and Hour Division’s San Angelo Field Office has oversight for agency enforcement throughout the San Angelo Metropolitan Area as well as central Texas. It is an extension of the division’s San Antonio District Office at 10127 Morocco, Suite 140, connecting employees, employers, community organizations and other stakeholders with the resources and assistance needed to ensure compliance with federal wage and hour laws.

The Wage and Hour Division services central and southwest Texas in three locations – an area office in Austin, the district office in San Antonio and now this field office in San Angelo. The public can visit or call the San Angelo Field Office at 325-655-2791 or the San Antonio District Office at 210-308-4515 for assistance in English or Spanish.

Anyone who wishes to receive wage and hour-related information, file a complaint or ask a question about federal wage laws should contact the Wage and Hour Division, which administers the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Service Contract Act, and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, among other federal laws. For more information about the division, visit http://www.dol.gov/whd. A toll-free helpline also is available at 866-4US-WAGE (487-9243).
