US Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division to hold Nov. 4 press conference in Norfolk, Va., to announce partnership with Mexican Consulate
NORFOLK, Va. -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will hold a press conference on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Norfolk Federal Building to announce its partnership with the Consular Section of the Consulate General of Mexico in the District of Columbia. During the conference, both agencies will sign an agreement of understanding establishing a collaborative relationship to provide Mexican nationals in Virginia with information, guidance and access to education and training resources concerning their rights as workers. The goal is to reduce violations of the minimum wage, overtime, record-keeping, child labor, safe housing and transportation provisions of the laws enforced by the Wage and Hour Division.
