LAS VEGAS -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and Occupational Safety and Health Administration will join the consulates of Mexico and El Salvador in Las Vegas in marking Labor Rights Week with a series of activities and events Aug. 27-31. The theme for this year is “Protecting Labor Rights is Everyone’s Responsibility.”
Gaspar Montañez, director of the Wage and Hour Division’s Las Vegas District Office, and Joy Flack, director of OSHA’s Las Vegas Area Office, will participate in a kickoff event to be held at the Mexican Consulate on Monday morning.
Throughout the week, Labor Department staff will provide compliance assistance materials, answer questions and take complaints. They also will participate in a radio talk show sponsored by the Consulate of Mexico at 3 p.m. PDT on KRLV 1340AM.
