Wage and Hour Division (WHD)
U.S. Department of Labor
REDDING, Calif. -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has announced the opening of a field office in Redding, Calif., to connect employees, employers, community organizations and other stakeholders with resources and assistance needed to ensure compliance with federal wage and hour laws.
The Redding Field Office is located at 2334 Washington St., Suite C. The public can visit in person or reach the main office in Sacramento, Calif., by telephone at 916-978-6123.
“We are very pleased to announce the opening of another Wage and Hour Division office in California,” said Ruben Rosalez, acting administrator of the Wage and Hour Division’s Western Region. “This new office is intended to better serve the needs of employers and employees as a one-stop resource for compliance assistance and information concerning the federal labor laws we enforce.”
Investigators assigned to the field office in Redding are helping strengthen the division’s outreach and enforcement activities throughout Northern California, including enforcement on federal construction and service contracts. The office is an extension of the division’s Sacramento office, located at 2800 Cottage Way, Suite W-1836.
To reach areas of the country that had been underserved, the Wage and Hour division opened 13 new offices last year and upgraded several others across the country, making services more readily accessible to thousands of workers and employers in more rural areas. The increase in WHD staff and office locations has enabled the division to reach out to more workers, to strengthen its partnerships with stakeholders, and to provide greater compliance assistance to employers and employer associations nationwide.
The Wage and Hour Division enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Service Contract Act and the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, among other federal laws. For more information about these laws or to file a complaint, call the Redding office, the Sacramento office, or the division’s toll-free helpline at 866-4US-WAGE (487-9243).
