Wage and Hour Division (WHD)
U.S. Department of Labor
HOUSTON -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has opened a new office at 17625 El Camino Real, Suite 482, in Houston.
“I am pleased that the department continues to enhance its services and compliance efforts in the Harris and Galveston County area,” said Cynthia Watson, regional administrator for the Wage and Hour Division in the Southwest. “This office will be a great resource for both employees and employers seeking information about the federal labor laws that are enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor.”
The new office will serve as an extension to support the Wage and Hour Division Houston District Office at 8701 S. Gessner. It will help connect employees, employers and community-based organizations in the south Houston and Galveston Bay areas with the resources and assistance needed to ensure that vulnerable workers – including laborers on federal construction and service contracts – are paid fairly for all hours worked. The Clear Lake area is the location of NASA’s Johnson Space Center and the University of Houston Clear Lake.
Anyone who wishes to receive wage and hour information, file a complaint, or ask questions about requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Service Contract Act or any other law enforced by the Wage and Hour Division can visit or call the division’s Houston Clear Lake office at 281-488-0690 or call its Houston District Office at 713-339-5500. The staff offers assistance in both English and Spanish.
