LAWTON, Okla. -- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has opened a new field office at the federal courthouse located at 410 Fifth St. SW, Room 311 in Lawton.
“I am very pleased about the opening of another Wage and Hour Division office to better serve the people of Oklahoma,” said Cynthia Watson, regional administrator for the Wage and Hour Division in the Southwest. “The department now will be able to provide added assistance and a one-stop shop in this area for employers seeking compliance assistance concerning the federal labor laws we enforce.”
The division’s Lawton Field Office will have oversight for agency enforcement throughout the state. It also will connect employees, employers and community-based organizations with the resources and assistance needed to ensure that workers in low-wage industries – including laborers on federal construction and service contracts – are paid fairly for all hours worked.
The Wage and Hour Division services the state of Oklahoma in three locations: an area office in Tulsa, the district office in Oklahoma City and now in Lawton.
