After opening remarks from YWCA Program Manager Cris Siebenlist, and Women’s Bureau Regional Administrator Dorothy Witherspoon, the workshop featured presentations and exhibits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Metropolitan Energy Center, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Kansas Workforce Partnership and numerous local businesses specializing in green technology. Participants learned about the increasing demand for green collar professionals and the availability of local training programs for those interested in pursuing green jobs.
