Barbara Grimm works at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) as Senior Vice President of the Office of Labor Management Partnership. In this role, she provides leadership, management oversight, and guidance to the ongoing development and advancement of Labor Management Partnership throughout KFHP. The Labor Management Partnership, Kaiser Permanenteís strategy for workplace engagement and performance improvement, is the largest and most comprehensive such partnership in the United States, representing more than 90,000 frontline employees, some 25,000 managers, and 14,000 physicians.

Prior to her current position, she was the Medical Group Administrator for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. With the rest of the executive team, she was responsible for leading 7,000 employees and 800 physicians in providing health care to 500,000 members in San Diego.

Prior to her position as Medical Group Administrator, Grimm served as Vice President of Operations for the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Region, with $2 billion in revenues and 500,000 health plan members. She had ultimate responsibility for the areaís health care services and a workforce of 3,500 employees and 750 physicians. In that role, Grimm provided regional leadership for the majority of ambulatory care services across 28 facilities. In addition, she was instrumental in Kaiser Permanenteís partnership with the Exempla Hospital System for inpatient care, for the regionís capital facility program, and for the market-leading deployment of a fully integrated electronic clinical/business system.

Grimmís experience includes extensive background in hospital-based health care, ambulatory and primary care, facility design, development and construction, occupational health, quality assurance and improvement, technology/operations integration, and workforce development.

Her career with Kaiser Permanente spans 15 years, and Grimm is passionate about the organizationís nonprofit mission, which is to provide high-quality, affordable health care services to 8.6 million health plan members and their communities.

Grimm received her undergraduate degree in physical therapy from the State University of New York. She received her masterís degree in health administration from the executive program at the University of Colorado and graduated from the Advanced Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina.
