Dallis Howard-Crow joined Emory Healthcare as the chief human resources officer in June 2008. Dallis is responsible for developing, organizing, implementing and coordinating the human resources function for the health system, which is the clinical enterprise for the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University. The position is also responsible for providing strategic leadership in support of the organizationís goal of being the employer of choice in Atlanta and the Southeast. As an integral member of the senior management team, the CHRO is responsible for helping to shape, guide and direct the overall human resources programs at EMORY HEALTHCARE and to ensure the human resources systems and programs support the mission and goals of the entire organization.
Dallis holds a master's degree in health administration from the University of Colorado at Denver, a bachelor's in accounting from Arizona State University, and possesses more than 20 years of health care and corporate human resources experience, most recently from Methodist (Peoria, Illinois), where she served as senior vice president. At Methodist, she was responsible for a variety of clinical and operational departments, as well as human resources. Among many notable achievements under her leadership, Methodist earned Magnet nursing designation in 2004 and was the first Illinois hospital in three years to be presented the Lincoln Gold award for Quality in 2006. Prior to joining Methodist, Dallis worked at Denver-based HCA-Health One (a six-hospital health care system) for more than 10 years. During her years at Health One, which were primarily spent in the division office, Dallis led the human resources team during multiple changes in corporate ownership.
