The Women's Bureau's Women
with Disabilities' Entrepreneurship Project provides technical assistance to
women with disabilities who are interested in starting their own small
business. Ten participants successfully completed the training at First Step
Fund, located in Kansas City, Missouri, and are now on their way to becoming
entrepreneurs. Myrna, one of the program's graduates, started a business making
designer dresses, hats, quilts, and pillows from authentic imported fabric from
Africa.
