Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC)
Authorized Representative Conflict of Interest
Under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), a claimant may designate an authorized representative, who is then permitted to communicate with the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) on behalf of the claimant regarding the claims process.
Conflicts of interest may occasionally arise with regard to the designation of an authorized representative. The DEEOIC issued EEOICPA Bulletin 14-04, Authorized Representative Conflicts of Interest, to advise authorized representatives, claimants, and DEEOIC personnel of the already existing policy with regard to authorized representatives’ conflicts of interest.
