DEEOIC Hosts Town Hall Meetings & Medical Benefits Roundtable Discussions in Pasco, Washington (WA) – On June 5, 2013, DEEOIC hosted two (2) informational meetings in Pasco, Washington, to provide physicians and home health care (HHC) providers with information about medical benefits and HHC services provided under the EEOICPA. Five (5) physicians attended the 9:00 am and 12:00 p.m. meetings, and fifteen (15) HHC providers participated in the 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm meetings. The sessions included a prepared presentation as well as time for questions-and-answers. Doug Dawkins from the National Office Policy Branch and Tracy Johnson, Assistant Director, Seattle district office, were the presenters. Kipp Dubow, Senior Claims Examiner, Seattle district office, and staff members from the Hanford Resource Center were also on hand to assist with the event. Other attendees included Malcolm Nelson and Patrice Louie of the Ombudsman’s Office, as well as representatives of the Former Worker Program.
On June 6, 2013, DEEOIC hosted two (2) Town Hall Meetings (THM) for EEOICPA claimants at 9:30 am and 3:30 pm at the Pipefitters Local Union #598 in Pasco, WA. The RC reported 86 attendees at the morning session and 83 attendees at the afternoon session. Doug Dawkins from the National Office Policy Branch and Tracy Johnson from the Seattle district office were the presenters, and Kipp Dubow of the Seattle district office assisted with claim status updates during both sessions. The RC set up two tables: one to register attendees, assist individuals in filing claims, and provide claim status updates, and another with informational handouts, a list of enrolled providers, and copies of the presentation. Others attending this event included Malcolm Nelson and Patrice Louie of the Ombudsman’s Office. Renee Richardson from the National Office, Branch of Outreach and Technical Assistance, organized the June 5 & 6, 2013 events.
