Outreach Event

On June 24 and 25, 2014, officials from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensationís (DEEOIC) Denver district office will host two town hall meetings in Moab, Utah, to discuss the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) and the medical benefits provided under the program. Discussions will include general program information as well as specific information concerning home health care services, the Privacy Act, and how to better serve EEOICPA claimants.

Staff from DEEOICís Denver district office and Espanola resource center will also be available before and after each town hall meeting presentation to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and to provide claimants with status updates on their EEOICPA claims.

Discussions will include general program information as well as specific information concerning home health care services, the Privacy Act, and how to better serve EEOICPA claimants.

DEEOICís Traveling Resource Center staff will also be available before and after each town hall meeting to assist individuals with the filing of new claims under the EEOICPA and to provide claimants with status updates on their EEOICPA claim.

On May 6, 2014, officials from the U.S. Department of Laborís (DOL) Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will participate in a town hall meeting in Pahrump, Nevada to provide information about the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The EEOICPA was created to assist those individuals who became ill as a result of working in the nuclear weapons industry. Survivors of such individuals may also be eligible for benefits under Parts B and E of the EEOICPA.

The meeting is being hosted by the Joint Outreach Task Group (JOTG) which is comprised of representatives from DEEOIC, DOLís Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICPA, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), DOEís Former Worker Medical Screening Program, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Servicesí National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Ombudsman to NIOSH for the EEOICPA. Members of the JOTG will be present at the meeting to answer questions.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2014, and Wednesday, April 9, 2014, staff from the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensationís (DEEOIC) Denver and Seattle district offices will host public town hall meetings in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to discuss the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) and the medical benefits provided under the program. Presentations on both days will begin at 9:00 a.m. The information presented on both days will be the same and will include specific information regarding home health care services and how to better serve EEOICPA claimants.

Staff from the Denver and Seattle district offices as well as staff from DEEOICís Espanola resource center will also be available on April 8 and 9, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to assist individuals with the taking of new claims under the EEOICPA and to provide existing EEOICPA claimants with status updates on their claims.

On February 19, 2014, officials from the U.S. Department of Laborís Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensationís (DEEOIC) National Office will be hosting two town hall meetings in Denver, Colorado to discuss the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), the benefits provided under the program and the new Rocky Flats Plant Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) class. In addition to the DEEOICís presentation, members of the Joint Outreach Task Group (JOTG), including representatives from the Department of Energy (DOE), DOEís Former Worker Medical Screening Program, and the Department of Laborís Office of the Ombudsman for the EEOICPA will also be presenting information. Representatives from Health and Human Services (HHS) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health will be available to answer questions.
