6	The OWCP Implementation Convention (IC) The participating agency is provided with copies of the OWCP Implementation Convention (IC) which contains guidelines for the following transaction data sets: 148 is used to submit the Federal Workers’ Compensation report of Injury and/or illness (CA1/CA2) 824 is used to return the Case Number assigned to each 148 report. 997 is used to acknowledge receipt of the 148 and 824 Depending on any error that may occur it will be return to the submitting agency inside the one of the following transaction data sets: 824 Failure to comply with the 148 IC. 997 Failure to comply with the standard syntax.
