The Steel Erection Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee (SENRAC)
will meet July 24 in Washington, D.C., to sign its consensus proposal for a
revised steel erection standard and present it to the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA).
The public signing ceremony will be held at 1 p.m in Room S-2508, U.S.
Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20210.
SENRAC was established in May 1994 to negotiate issues involved in
revising OSHA's steel erection standard. The committee includes representatives
of organized labor, industry, public interests and government. The committee
began negotiations in mid-June 1994 and has met 11 times since then. In
December 1995 it reached consensus on a proposed standard. In the ensuing
months, OSHA prepared a preamble and a notice of proposed rulemaking to support
the SENRAC text. After SENRAC has presented its consensus document to OSHA, a
notice of proposed rulemaking will be published in the Federal Register.
No advance registration is required to attend the meeting. Persons with
