OSHA's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to revise the
recording and reporting of workplace deaths, injuries and illnesses appeared in
the February 2, 1996 Federal Register. The agency held public meetings to
discuss the rule March 26-29 and again on April 30 and May 1. The public
comment period was also extended from its original deadline of April 29 to May
31. The new deadline for receipt of comments is July 1.
OSHA has placed transcripts of the public meetings and
additional reference material for review in the docket.
Notice of this extension is on file and will be published
in the June 3, 1996 Federal Register. Text of the proposed rule is on the
Internet World Wide Web at http://www.osha.gov/ under "Standards."
