OSHA Press Release: OSHA Advisory Committee Work Group Developing Construction Safety And Health Program Proposal To Meet May 30 In Washington, D.C. [05/09/1996]

The Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) work group developing a proposal for a safety and health program standard for the construction industry will meet May 30 in Washington, D.C.

ACCSH advises the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on standards and policies to protect construction workers from worksite hazards.

The meeting will be held in Room S-3215 A&B U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work group, in its April 10 meeting, asked interested parties to provide comments and recommendations for a construction safety and health program standard by May 17, 1996.

During the May 30 meeting, the work group will discuss the comments and recommendations.

The specialty review groups that have been established to represent the range of construction activities will make presentations.

Persons interested in making comments or recommendations for the standard should submit them to the appropriate specialty review group through the Directorate of Construction, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., Room N-3306, Washington, D.C., 20210, attention: Camille Villanova.

     The following specialty review groups will be asked to
provide summaries and suggested changes to the draft during the
May 30 meeting.

     The work group on the safety and health program standard
will hold another meeting in Room S-3215 A&B on June 11, 1996,
the day before a full ACCSH meeting at the Department of Labor in
Washington, D.C.
