The Advisory Committee and workgroups on Construction
Safety and Health (ACCSH) will meet April 9-10 in Washington, D.C. for
briefings on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction
activities.
The meetings are open to the public and will begin at 9
a.m. on April 9 and at 8:30 a.m. on April 10. They will conclude at about 5
p.m. on April 9 and noon on April 10, and will be held in Room N-3437 A-D at
the Frances Perkins Building, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave.,
NW, Washington.
On April 9, OSHA will brief the committee on the status of
standards-related activities for construction. In particular, the agency will
report on the draft final rule for scaffolds (subpart L); the deliberations of
the Steel Erection Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee; and the status of
rulemaking efforts regarding fall protection (subpart M), safety and health
programs, confined spaces, powered industrial trucks and hazard communication.
In addition, OSHA will brief the committee on the
activities of OSHA's Directorate of Construction and on pertinent legislative,
compliance and paperwork reduction issues.
In the afternoon, the work groups on musculoskeletal
disorders, safety and health programs, confined spaces and health and safety
for women in construction will meet from about 2-5 p.m.
On April 10, the agency will report on the development of
guidelines for OSHA Partnership programs. In addition, the work groups will
report back to the full advisory committee and the full committee will discuss
the work group reports.

preferably with 20 copies, to the OSHA Division of Consumer Affairs, Room

received prior to the meeting will be provided to the members of the committee
and will be included in the record of the meeting. That record will be

Anyone who wishes to make an oral presentation should
notify the Division of Consumer Affairs before the meeting. The request should
state the amount of time desired, the capacity in which the person will appear
and include a brief outline of the content of the presentation. Persons will be
allowed to speak, as time permits, at the discretion of the chairman of the
advisory committee.
