The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) today announced that the latest release of its
quarterly CD-ROM now supports Windows, Macintosh, and DOS-based PCs. This
release also contains regulations and documents from the Mine Safety and Health
Administration (MSHA).
The CD-ROM, release A95-1, contains thousands of pages of
OSHA documents and regulations issued or updated through the end of December
1994. Retrieval software is included and supports text searching, document
display, and viewing of images.
The new release also contains Occupational Safety and
Health Review Commission (OSHRC) decisions in full text provided through the
U.S. Department of Labor's Office of the Solicitor. The MSHA documents added
include legislative history, policy and procedures manual and the MSHA Act.
Other OSHA information available on CD-ROM includes the
OSH Act, federal register notices, directives, interpretations of standards,
fact sheets, settlement agreements, congressional testimony and chemical
sampling procedures. Some documents, such as the OSHA analytical methods, are
included on the DC-ROM only in Wordperfect format. GOCAD - Cadmium Biological
Monitoring Advisor, a PC-software application developed by OSHA, is also
included. The Safety and Health Regulations in Mexico also are included in
Wordperfect format.
The subscription titled, "OSHA Regulations, Documents, and
Technical Information on CD-ROM, is available from the Government Printing
Office (GPO), as a one-year subscription which includes four quarterly updates.
A one-year subscription, stock number 729-013-00000-5, is $88. Single copies
are available for $30. GPO will accept VISA, MasterCard, or GPO Deposit Account
charges.

Installation instructions, user instructions, and a
