FEDERAL ADVISORY COUNCIL ON OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING IN WASHINGTON

The Secretary of Labor's Federal Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) will hold a public meeting from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1.

FACOSH, composed of eight representatives of federal government agencies and eight representatives of labor organizations representing federal employees, advises the secretary on safety and health responsibilities for federal employees.

The agenda includes discussion of a Voluntary Protection Program in the federal sector; plans to re-energize the federal safety and health program; proposals for occupational safety and health legislative reform in the federal sector; possible revision of Executive Order 12196 which defines the responsibilities and roles of the secretary and federal agencies in occupational safety and health in federal agencies; possible revision of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations for federal employee safety and health programs; and evaluations of federal safety and health programs.

Written data, views or comments, preferably with 20 copies, may be submitted to John E. All submissions received by Jan. 25 will be provided to members of the council and will be included in the record of the meeting, which will be made available for public inspection in the Office of Federal Agency Programs.

Anyone wishing to make an oral presentation should notify the Office of Federal Agency Programs by Jan. 25. The request should include the amount of time desired, the capacity in which the person will appear, and a brief outline of the content of the presentation.

The meeting will be held in Room S-4215 ABC in the Frances Perkins Department of Labor Building, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C., 20210.
