U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao statement on TAA following president’s signing of bill to implement U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement
WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao made the following statement on Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) today after the president signed a letter to Congress that will transmit legislation implementing the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement:
"Both the president and congressional leaders have indicated a strong interest in reauthorizing Trade Adjustment Assistance. As the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement moves forward, we will continue discussions with Congress on TAA to develop bipartisan legislation that the president can sign."
