Thurs., Feb. 9, 1995

For more information call: 202/219- 7342.

Research prepared for the Glass Ceiling Commission on the barriers minorities and women face in advancing into top-level corporate positions is available electronically through a cooperative program between the U.S. Department of Labor and Cornell University.

In cooperation with the Martin P. Catherwood Library and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, 17 research papers prepared as part of the Glass Ceiling Commission's examination of organizational and attitudinal practices hindering the advancement of minorities and women into corporate managerial positions are available through Cornell's World Wide Web Server. Additional research and the commission's reports also will be included when they are completed.

The InterNet access for the research papers is www.ilr.cornell.edu. The papers are also available through GOPHER. That access code is 128.253.61.155.

This effort will make full text of the commission's products accessible without charge to anyone with an Internet connection and a World Wide Web browser. This includes most universities, colleges, schools, libraries as well as a growing number of corporations, businesses, and individuals.

For information about the World Wide Web Server, contact Stuart Basefsky at the Catherwood Library on (607)-255-5435. For information about the Glass Ceiling Commission, contact Gordon Berg on (202)-219-7342.
