The Consumer Price Index rose 0.1 percent in November. Over the past 12
months, the CPI has risen 2.6 percent. But, excluding the volatile food and
energy sectors, the "core" CPI has risen just 2.1 percent over the past year,
below the increase of the previous year.
Real wages are also up 0.9 percent over the past year. This is the fifth
year of increase after eight previous years of stagnation.
