We close out the 20th century with great news -- a historic 20 million new jobs for America's working families, clearly proving that the President's economic vision is 20/20.

Since 1993, we launched an economic strategy based on fiscal discipline, open markets, and investing in the skills of workers. Without a doubt, this strategy has made the economy work for American workers.

With the addition of 234,000 new jobs in November, the overall unemployment rate for the month remains unchanged at 4.1 percent. We see near record lows of unemployment across our demographic spectrum, and all sectors of the economy continue strong and steady growth. Employment in the services industry increased by 120,000 jobs in November. Business services added 45,000 jobs. Social services added 25,000 jobs. Employment in the health services rose by 14,000.

The President's policies have not only created 20 million good jobs, but have also created an era of unprecedented opportunity. As we enter the 21st century, today's report gives new meaning to the term "Roaring 20s."
