Following two months of no consumer price inflation, the CPI rose 0.3 percent in July in line with expectations. The "core" rate which excludes volatile food and energy prices rose 0.2 percent, also in line with expectations. With a 2.1 percent rise in prices over the year, we continue to enjoy a strong economy with consumer price inflation in check.
