Our economy today has turned Sweet 16. We have created over 16 million new jobs since the President took office 5 years ago.

If you listen closely, the sound you hear across this country is the sound of opportunity knocking. This is truly an opportunity economy. Our economy is strong. It is solid. And it continues to soar.

Last month's unemployment rate held steady at 4.3 percent--an historic 28-year low. Overall payroll employment rose by 296,000 in May. Job growth was particularly strong in engineering and management services; finance and insurance; and health services.

We are currently in the midst of the first ever National Summit on Retirement Savings. The strong economy is further evidence that now is the time to encourage Americans to save for the future. Americans need to know that when you save for tomorrow, you're really giving yourself a raise.

As the school year ends, our children are coming home with their report cards. The report card is in on this economy--and the President has earned an A+ for America's workers.
