The nation's rock-solid economy continues on a terrific roll with nearly 12 million new jobs created since January, 1993.

Today's employment situation report shows a gain of 175,000 net payroll jobs in March--an increase of 194,000 jobs in the private sector. The unemployment rate in March was 5.2 percent...the thirty-first consecutive month that the rate has been below 6 percent and the fourteenth consecutive month that it has been at or below 5.5 percent.

The report also shows that since January, 1994, 65 percent of the net increase in total employment has been in the relatively high wage managerial and professional occupations.
